MacKenzie and MacKenzie is a law firm built to serve its clients. We aim to establish long term lawyer-client relationships where we shoulder the burden of our client's ongoing legal concerns. Formerly McKechnie, Jurgeit and MacKenzie, our firm has been operating in the Etobicoke area for over 30 years and has established a reputation for professionalism and integrity in both the legal community and among its clients.
The founding partner, Jerald W. MacKenzie, graduated from Dalhousie School of Law in 1976 and was called to the Bar in 1978. Following his call to the bar Jerald was employed with Thompson, Tooze, Mclean in downtown Toronto, where he remained for five years before moving in to private practice. Jerald is well-known and respected by senior counsel and judges across the greater Toronto area, for his direct and results based approach to litigation. Jerald has implemented this approach to litigation and the practice of law at MacKenzie and MacKenzie. Our team of staff and lawyers recognize how crucial it is to spend time with client's to truly understand their needs, and then implement strategies which will effectively produce results.

Jerald W. MacKenzie
Jerald W. MacKenzie received his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Dalhousie School of Law in 1976 and was called to the Ontario bar in 1978. Jerald initially worked as an associate with one of Toronto’s top law firms for several years. He continued his practice in Etobicoke in association with McKechnie, Jurgeit and MacKenzie, now known as MacKenzie and MacKenzie. Having practiced law for more than 40 years, Jerald has developed the insight, expertise, and boldness necessary to resolve complex and contested legal matters with ease.
Jerald has appeared at numerous levels of court across Ontario specializing primarily in family law and estate matters. He professionally and effectively represents his clients consistently delivering positive results. Jerald ensures his client’s are given the care and attention they deserve, ensuring his client’s needs are met without delay.

JJ D. MacKenzie
JJ MacKenzie received his J.D. from Western University in 2014 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015. JJ regularly appears at numerous levels of court across the Greater Toronto Area including the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, and Divisional Court. He has successfully resolved complex legal matters including defamation, adoption, and contested custody and access issues. He as acted as counsel in both civil and family law trials.
Specializing in Family Law and Real Estate Law, JJ is committed to serving his client’s with integrity. He is devoted to his clients, and will craft methods and strategies to achieve a positive outcome in every situation. JJ is always available to answer his client’s questions whether by telephone, email, or in person, and ensures his client’s needs are attended to promptly.
